DMI Workforce Development’s own Jessie Fincham and Katie Hager joined BotsIQ in welcoming over 200 students, educators, and industry partners to BotsIQ’s Third Annual Girls Exploring Engineering Event on February 21, 2024.
The theme, Welcome to the Future, was about celebrating today’s achievements and paving the way for a brighter and more diverse future in engineering. Students learned about the importance of the role that engineering has played in innovation and the variety of career opportunities available for everyone.
The day was filled with STEM activities such as Jessie and Katie’s 3D pen activity, second-year DMI Electrical Engineering Intern Olivia Sobek’s motorized Scoutie Bot activity, former DMI Mechanical Engineering intern Lexie Palo’s foundry casting activity, a robotic dog demo, a 3D bioprinting demo, a mechanical engineering challenge, and much more. You could even try your hand at flying a drone.
Thank you, BotsIQ, for another inspiring event to allow students to explore the exciting world of manufacturing!
